About United Techncial

United Technical began in early 2009 as a technical group providing multiple welding-related disciplines to the welding and fabrication network. Our core company expertise focuses on welding and heavy fabrication.

Our experienced, professional team provides a single source for all structural and welding related services: welding engineering & consulting, metallurgical consulting, materials testing, NDT inspection, weld process training, and welder certification. We are United Technical.

Our team is cross-trained, ensuring that each professional is capable of understanding all core disciplines of a structural steel project. Each team member has experience in understanding building codes, weld specifications, testing specifications & requirements, acceptance & inspection criteria for welding and fabrication.

 

Initially providing technical services within the nuclear and aerospace industry, our first projects consisted of welding engineering, process development, training and weld repair validation/inspection.

 

As our company expanded, we learned that many competitors didn’t have the expertise or knowledge required to effectively provide complete solutions to customers. Inspection companies didn’t understand welding codes or specifications, testing labs didn’t understand welding, and training institutions couldn’t provide welder certification or knowledge of heavy fabrication requirements. 

  

In response, United Technical created four business units working together to provide complete answers for clients' unique problems. The United Technical team has experts in welding engineering, laboratory testing, NDT inspection, and welding instruction that understand codes, specifications, metallurgy, welder certification, fabrication and teamwork.

At United Technical, we don’t just say we know it, we back it up. The mechanical and metallurgical testing laboratory is A2LA accredited, our weld inspectors are AWS certified, the non-destructive inspection team (NDT) is ASNT certified, our training facilities are certified as an AWS ATF, and our engineers are degreed.
